The colour of cypress mulch can vary as the timber used comes from various areas in Qld and NSW. Despite the varying colours, it all has the same properties. The main benefit of cypress is that it carries oil which will repel white ants. The only draw back on it is that the mulch can compact down and become water repellent. So it will benefit from occasional loosening up with a rake or fork. This mulch takes many years to break down so soil needs to be in top condition before covering.
